U e n o P a r k

We go to Ueno every time we are in Tokyo, but I have never been to the Ueno Park. This time, I have decided to split from the girls and venture the park on my own, while they are off shopping.
Sakura trees lining the entrance to the park
No cherry blossom in winter...
...but bright red autumn leaves.
In monotone.
This path would be filled with visitors during the cherry blossom period.
Sacred lamps
Tori gate of Toshogu
More sacred lamps lining towards Toshogu Shrine.
Off to offer prayers.
Colourful garlands to remember the dead.
If yellow is your colour.
Sogakudo Concert Hall Tokyo.
Catching the rays.
Empty seat.
Romantic stroll.
Fallen leaves.
Watch my ball. A home run!
Street Basking. Muchas gracias
Cycling along Kiyomizu Kannon-do
Am I lost?
Statue of Takamori Saigo

I am glad I visited Ueno Park, though I did not have much time to see beyond the guided route. From the map, there are many more interesting places that I could visit, like the pond and museums. I will definitely return to Ueno Park, hopefully for the cherry blossoms.

And another travel trip awaiting....
