S a p p o r o 2

View from our hotel room, with Mount Moiwa in the background.

We were out early as the weather was good.
But within a few hundred steps from the hotel, it started to snow.
We took shelter at Nijo Market, and got tempted with the arrays of seafood on sale.
Nijo Market is popular with the locals and tourists.
The popular long legged Hokkaido crabs.
The seafood is as fresh as it can get.
We made our way to Sapporo Factory, a large scale shopping mall.
A really tall live Christmas tree.
Sapporo Factory sat on Japan's first brewery factory.
It now houses shops, restaurants and a theatre.
 Indoor windmills.
We ventured out to test the weather.
It was a freezing cold day.
The snow could get heavy in the weeks to come.
The bicycle resting area till the winter is over.
A shrine sitting next to Sapporo Factory.
Red brick Arkarenga building where beer was once brewed inside.
 One of wife's favourite hunt.
More shopping followed till it was dark to return to the hotel.

I like Sapporo and its underground walkway. In extreme bad weather, you could walk the whole of Susukino, reach the malls or to the train station under shelter and protected from the elements. There are food places throughout to satisfy the hungry traveller. Such convenience!
This would be our last night in Sapporo. We have rented a car and would be on the road to see the rest of Hokkaido in the next few days.

And another travel trip awaiting....
