I have seen snow but never one that is so powdery and light. You could blow it off like fine talcum, and it is at Niseko that we experienced this. Awesome!

We left Otaru late morning and made our way to Niseko. The weather started to turn bad. At one section, visibility was less than 20m.

Thank God it cleared and the journey was smooth cruising.

Got to our hotel and this is the view from our room. What a beautiful sight to wake up to.

Hotel with a ski slope in the background.

Indoor onsen with an outdoor view.

Everything is white and grey...

...and eerily quiet.

When the ski season start, the resort will be filled with activities.
We have the whole field to ourselves.
A long walk ahead.
To the ski lift we go.

Snowboarders getting ready for the challenge.

So too are we...

...for our snow mobile ride.
Doesn't she look cool?
Vroom vroom here we go.
Left to her own device, she could manage her machine pretty well.
Maneuvering a tricky path.
Pursuing her target.
Overtaking on the outside.

The Dark Riders.

With our instructor, Shinko-san.
Mount Yotei on a beautiful sunny day.

When the snow disappeared, a golf course would appear.
Skiing is popular, but too tough an activity for us.

Snow blanketed our car.

We went to Niseko town for dinner.

A really nice place to chill out, literally.
Had a wonderful meal, warm and delicious.
Our stay at Niseko has to be the highlight of the trip. The hotel and its surroundings are truly beautiful, the snowmobile ride was a fun experience, and the snow has got to be the finest in the world. It is no wonder Niseko is a popular ski destination for many during the ski season. I would definitely love to go back there again.
And another travel trip awaiting....
