S a p p o r o 3

We picked up our rented car to start our Hokkaido road trip. Although it has an in-car GPS, I took along my Garmin as a back-up. I never had to use the latter, because the in-car system was fabulously accurate. By simply keying in the telephone number, we got to our destination with ease.
We made Shiroi Koibito Park Ishiya Chocolate Factory our 1st stop on our way to Otaru.
The popular Hokkaido biscuit factory is beautifully lit in Christmas decorations.
 The singing chefs.
Snowmen welcoming us from the balconies.
 The prominent tower clock.
 Wall mural inside the museum.
Poster on history of chocolate.

Chocolate from all over the world.
 Antique furniture.
Backlit brings out the details of the tainted glass.
 Chocolate-like wall tiles.
 Factory in operation.
Quality check on the tasty biscuits.
One could grow fat from smelling the buttery snacks.
 Tasty Christmas treats.
 Bring one home?
Along with this group of children, we enrolled in a class to 'make' our own biscuit.
 Sharon's masterpiece...
... and mine. Isn't it obvious who is the better artist?
Showing off our finished products, that obviously ended up in the stomach in no time.
 Look at the lovely cakes.
We could not resist the temptation. Yummy!
 The neighbourhood in diorama.
 Awesome mountain range.
 Fisheye view
 The toy choir.
Lobby of Shiroi Koibito Park Ishiya Chocolate Factory
 Astro Boy saying hi.
 We visited the toy museum.
It has a large collection of toys...
... that some are really old and are collectibles.
 Japanese hero Ultraman.
The Fab Four are heroes in their own way too.

Shiroi Koibito Park Ishiya Chocolate Factory is a must-see place if you are en route to Otaru. We had fun making biscuits and touring the museum. Of course, we did not leave the place without buying the popular Hokkaido biscuits. It is simply delicious.

And another travel trip awaiting....
