For a change, I have posted an entry here in B&W. We were at Itaewon and this neighbourhood has a lot of charming small streets selling assortments of products. One particular street sells antique furniture and household items. Some of these things are really really old, and the only way I could bring out the nostalgic feel is to shoot it in B&W. Enjoy.
A popular hotel in Itaewon
Entrance to the subway station
Lone chair along the furniture street
Not many shops were opened, but with those that are, there are many interesting pieces on displayed.
Checking out a cafeteria
Haven't seen such luggage in a long while
Spotted this antique cabinet-like radio on display.
More chairs for sale
Cool looking TV. Looks like it was from The Jetsons cartoon.
Something you don't see everyday - convertible Cadillac
Bonding with her love.
Scooter or carrier?
Comfortable cushions
Going the bare minimum.
Hanging kettles that caught my eye.
Because of its close proximity to the U.S Army base, Itaewon is a magnet to foreigners, and it has the largest expats community in Seoul. Most of the shops here cater for the needs of these expats, as well as the bus load of tourists who arrive daily. On a crowded day, you would think that you were in a town in Europe. Not a place that I would return again, but at least I have seen it once.
And another travel trip awaiting....
