L i m e r i c k

This is the room where we stayed for 2 nights at Limerick. Fascinating colours.
 Monument on Sarsfield Bridge
A quiet day on the street of Limerick City. We found out that day being a public holiday, the shops were closed. No shopping for the girls. Sad.
Statue of Richard Harris, an Irish actor.
Since there was nothing much in the city, we drove to Adare for the day. Adare is Irish prettiest heritage town known for its thatched roof cottages.
Outside the Trinitarian Monastery.
I ventured inside Trinitarian Monastery, where weddings are regularly held. There was a preparation going on today so photography is not allowed.
Adare's famous thatched roof cottages
Roses add a touch of beauty to the surrounding.
The settings seem like a plot from a fairy tale
Adare Manor Hotel, a 19th century manor that has been converted into a luxury hotel.
The girls posing in front of 'their' manor.
The hotel is located next to River Maigue, and across from it is the 18-hole championship course of Adare Golf Club.
We returned to Limerick and visited King's John Castle, which is next to River Shannon.
A hangman tower.
View of River Shannon and its surrounding from the castle's tower. Another cloudy day.
A photo opportunity for the official trip photographer.

I felt like I have seen a lot of Ireland even though we were only into the 4th day of our 2 weeks trip. This country does not disappoint in terms of historical, architectural and sightseeing experiences. Perhaps if the food were more homely, it would be a perfect trip. Still, we have more to gain than just fulfilling the stomach.

And another travel trip awaiting....
