D i n g l e - K e r r y

We left Limerick for Dingle, a seaside town in Kerry County, and west of Ireland. On our way, we stopped over at Askeaton Friary
What is left of a beautiful and complete ruins
I love the cloister and how the lights come through each opening, detailing the fine carving & workmanship.
We arrived at the market town of Listowel for a short break
Saint John’s Arts and Heritage Centre, where it was formerly a church.
We travelled further south to reach the town of Tralee. Too bad we had our lunch, else we would have patronised this Chinese restaurant.
Tralee has many shops and eating places to spend a whole day in. But we could not stay longer as we have to move on to Dingle. If only we had more time.
There are lookout points that offer spectacular view of the coast.
Breathtaking view we saw along the way between Tralee and Dingle.
Finally arriving at our Guesthouse at Dingle.
And what a lovely and charming place.
We were given a sea fronting room. Yippee!
After unloaded our luggage, we took the famous Slea Head Drive to see the majestic Ireland coastline.
We were not disappointed. The Atlantic coast view was spectacular.
We spotted a rural life settlement on the hill. It is actually a tourist site aptly named The Famine Cottage.
Life was really difficult in those days, especially during the famine years where Catholics have to pay taxes to be allowed to own farm animals.
An inquisitive couple decided to check out on us.
 Then came the white pony.
And the auntie decided to share her apple
  What about me?
 Pretty pair of lady bugs.
All good things come in pairs. These two were waiting for free food.
And in all our driving trips, our car would have loaded with food. Sharon decided to share her chips.
Whichever direction, the view is simply stunning.
A tourist walking to the end of the world.
Some breathtaking sights from the Slea Head drive.

Our girls braving the wind & cold

A small beach for the locals to take a dip
Lady & her dogs.

I have absolutely no idea the Slea Head Drive would turn out to be so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and the beautiful sceneries along the way. The rolling green hills, the crystal water, the friendly animals, the rugged coast, the majestic sunset - all in one afternoon. Awesome!

And another travel trip awaiting....
