C l a r e

Clare, what a beautiful name, and definitely a beautiful place. We travelled through Clare County on our way to Limerick. This is the reason why this trip is all about for me - Cliff of Moher. There were of course, many worthy sights in Clare.
We took the Burren Route to Limerick and stopped here at Dunguaire Castle.
A lone Swan on a placid lake.
A rather wet morning with intermittent light rain. Good thing we have the brolly.
Interesting road signs we saw along the way.
Ireland Rocks! The rolling hills of Burren are limestone formed millions of years ago.
The Burren is rich with architecture and historical sites of Neolithic civilisation dated to 3800BC.
The most significant tomb existing today is Poulnabrone dolmen, which translates as the hole of sorrows.
We finally arrived at the Cliff of Moher, and we were showered with blessing rain.
Good thing the rain stopped and we could venture further.
There is no barrier. You could walk right to the edge if you have the guts.
The fall is 700 feet below. Impressive isn't it?
 Lush green versus grey sky.
The visitor centre and souvenir shops are interestingly set inside the cliff. No need for bricks & mortar.

Ok, I have seen & done it. I have crossed Cliff of Moher from my 'one of the places that I must visit before I die' list. What a wonderful place! Although the light rain dampened my mood a little, I still managed to capture some reasonably acceptable shots. Else I would have to make an excuse to go back there again : ).

And another travel trip awaiting....
