L a k e T a h o e

We are back in USA, and this time, we have my in-laws along on a road trip to Lake Tahoe. In my usual travel planning, there would be sightseeing and some shopping each day. For this trip, I minimised the latter since the older folks prefer to see than shop.
My attempt to stitch two photos to a panoramic Tahoe.
We spent 3 days at Lake Tahoe, and put up in this beautiful place at Hyatt High Sierra Lodge that is near the lake.
It cost a lot as I wanted to impress the in-laws. Just kidding. Its location is central to all the places that we wanted to visit, so we did not mind paying more. And it is a really nice resort.

I was up early the next morning, and while everyone was asleep, I decided to brave the cold to see the lake at dawn. I did not regret as the view is simply breathtaking.
After breakfast, we made our way up Heavenly Mountain via the cable car.
As it is still early winter, the place has little snow.
In fact, the ski resort is not even fully opened. To attract early visitors, they have artificial snow sprayed onto the slope.
 Mountain range across Heavenly
 With morning cloud dissipated slowly
A lone island on a quiet lake. Such tranquility.
The leaves will be back once spring arrives
Well, if you cannot ski, at least you could ice-skate.
Just to satisfy the girls, we stop for a shopping fix.
Some wooden craft for the small ones perhaps?

Lake Tahoe is more beautiful than I have imagined, and although I did not see any snow fall, I was happy to be there. The place is laid back and peaceful, unlike some touristy resorts. Perhaps we were early, and when the crowd arrive, I might not enjoy it as much without having 'obstacle' in every photo that I take.

And another travel trip awaiting....
