I know my wife is not a fan of castles or palaces as she finds them old and creepy. But we have run out places to visit and after much coaxing, she agreed to visit one.

We headed for Changdeokgung, which we had missed in our winter trip last December.

I always enjoy taking photos of temples and palaces, for their architecture and construction methods.

The colours used here are rich and bold.

Despite the multi colours, it blends well in its totality.

A lot of restoration efforts have been put in to make it stands out.

The amount of wood used is enormous.

Do you feel the 3D effect?

Into another forbidden palace ground

History is locked up behind the door

Old and worn, but it still stands on

When one door closes, another is opened.

Into the main court ....

....where the emperor used to address his royal subjects.
These are probably markers for the court officials.

So where should we stand?

SNSD wannabe

I believe we have visited most of the recommended places of interest within Seoul. It is time that we travel away from the popular places and into the suburbs, as we did when we visit Tokyo. There are many more interesting places where we can go, and I am looking forward to our future trips to Korea.
And another travel trip awaiting....
