Yes. We are back in Japan! This time, we are with family - 8 of us. To cater for the diversified age groups and interests, I made plans to revisit some popular places within Tokyo, as well as a couple of days out to the onsen town of Kusatsu.
We started off with Kawagoe, an old town famous for its Edo period houses and sweet potato produce. Although we have been here before, we revisited it as we know the first time older folks would like the charming town. Besides sightseeing, we did some shopping along Crea Mall, which is near the Kawagoe train station. We took it slow in our pace and spent a day here.

The happy (for the girls only) shopping street of Crea Mall.

Bell Tower of Kawagoe Old Town

Wooden windows, literally.

The popular town draws in visitors on a Monday morning.

The children needed food and rest.

Spirits having flown....

....but it is too early to get high.

Floral design brollies.

But it is not of much use in winter.

Couple Tees for cat lovers

Daruma balloons as good luck charm. So interesting.

Handsewn kitty souvenirs.

More Daruma and friends dolls

An artistic display of used bottles filled with coloured water.

Man having his portrait drawn. What a stern looking face.

Grilled Onigiri, the wife's favourite.

Who could resist the tasty Senbei?

We couldn't as well and bought some to savour.

Well grilled Mochi.

And Mochi laced with green tea powder. Yummy!

Great pick on the sale items.

Ojiisan taking his daily stroll.

Obaasan is more mobile in her bicycle.

Beautiful family of Koi

Bokeh delights.

Spotted this ferris wheel high up behind the main street of Crea Mall.

The city of Tokyo has interesting street lamps, usually with a theme to reflect its indivduality. I particularly like this one at Kawagoe, which has a bird series and colourful decorations.

Waiting for its next Tour de France.

Almost missed this guy who was inconspicuously sheltering from the cold.

Time to get up....

...and do some stretching exercise.

Look at their faces. It is only Day 1 and they are already miserable from the walking. Ha ha....

Its is all about sightseeing, stopping to eat and some street shopping.

This man sells spices that he concocts. It actually tasted not bad.

You just need a bit of each or of different combinations to get the food taste right.

Our party of 8.
Although our group is large, we were able to move about in the public transport comfortably. I remembered my FIL was left behind when he failed to board the train in one of our previous trips. This time around, we made sure that he boarded first. Ha ha....
I am looking forward to the next few days as we venture out of Tokyo to the onsen town of Kusatsu. There is no better place to enjoy soaking in the onsen than in the snow county itself.
And another travel trip awaiting....
