This is my 3rd visit to Japan in four years, and I am not sick of it. In fact, I was looking forward to this trip as I would be travelling to Kyoto & Osaka for the 1st time. We arrived at Tokyo with my in-laws - parents & brother in tow. I have planned this to be a relaxing trip, so that we could take it easy. We went back to familiar places as the older folks enjoyed it the last time.

Booking the train tickets.

We are so familiar with the train network that travelling in Tokyo is really a piece of cake now.

1st stop: Ueno.

There are many stalls and shops inside Ueno station.

Our favourite hunt, Ameyayokocho.

Oden anyone?

Pachinko is a big leisure business in Japan.

Very nice tasting Taiyaki on a cold morning.

Our trip to Ueno always stop at Yamashiroya, Sharon's favourite.

Spotted a Shinto on the way to Asakusa

Autumn leaves settling on the roof

These are interesting balconies.

Hand or factory made Japanese pottery.

The famous Niimi at Kappabashi, largest restaurant supply street.

A sign to tell us that we have reached Asakusa.

Kawaii neko chan.

Chance upon this shop at Ikebukuro. It sure is an exciting store, for Sharon that is....

...because they sell her favourite toys.

Lots of it in fact.

Tokyo Station Skyline, that means we are back at Imperial Palace.

Sportsmen warming up for a long hike.

So did we as we hike the streets of Ginza.
Our short 2 days trip in Tokyo ended as we embark onto our next destination, Osaka. Osaka is the 3rd largest city of Japan, and is 2.5hr away by train. There is no better way to travel there than by the Nozomi bullet train.
And another travel trip awaiting....
