I have a chance to visit Hua Hin recently. It was a 5D4N business trip that included an earlier stop in Bangkok. It is my first visit to Hua Hin, Thailand's royal beach resort, and not expecting much free time, I did not bother to google on the places to visit. And was I wrong! The associates are golfers and they packed themselves busy with several days of golfing. Being laid off golf awhile, I found myself with plenty of free time to pass. Fortunately, I have my camera with me.
G Hua Hin Resort & Mall, where I stayed. Nice hor?

Hua Hin Beach. No one is on the beach in this hot noon weather.
Had lunch in this old bungalow that is facing the sea.

A relaxing afternoon to chill down indoor with the seabreeze blowing.
Spotted a nice and beautiful lodge that I do not mind staying.
A classic Volkswagen Camper.
School is out, time to play!
Punishment by drinking. Anyone?
Arriving at Chatchai Market, where the locals get their produce.
They sell a good selection of preserved food...
...like salted fish.
I want this, this & that, 1 kilo each.
You can find inexpensive seafood here.
There are vegetables stalls...
...and stall selling juicy tropical fruits.
The oldest market in Hua Hin sells almost anything from rice to pet food...
...and from clothing...
...to toy cars.
Better pay up or I will bark.
I headed to the beach after lunch...
...and came to this long jetty.
Boat grounded.
These photogs have spotted something in the distance.
Are they shooting the returning fishing boats?
Owner of a lonely heart.
Lovers locking each other's sight.
Bonding time with the daughter while enjoying his hobby.

Waiting for the ride of his life.
Papa, watch me do the Girls Generation dance.
Deciding who to go first....

...by leaping into the water from the jetty.

Look out!
These few have completed the leap of faith.
Oi! When is my turn to sit?
Hmmm....caption please?
Sisters act.
Caught this mongrel staring intensely at my direction.
From the jetty, I could see activities on the beach across.
So I went to check it out.
Beachgoers gathered to dine and enjoy an afternoon together.
Front row dining, if you don't mind the lapping waves.
Make your reservation yet?
What a joy! Seafood steamboat by the beach...
...and followed with cold beer.
Better get off lady! The horse needs a breather.
Made-in-Thailand aeroplane kites.
Soar like a bird.
You can para-sail at the beach.
Vendor selling hard boiled eggs.

Taking his mobile stall to a better crowd.

Boys having fun...

...and so too the girls.
Someone better wake him up before the tides come.
One for the memory.
Messi wannabe, but the beach shorts cannot make it.
One semi-nudist on the loose.
Prior to my visit, friends and colleagues have told me about how wonderful and fun Hua Hin is. They complimented it so highly that I was taken in by their enthusiasm. While I enjoyed the cheap & readily available seafood, and the accompanying massages in-between meals, I did not find Hua Hin that spectacular as described. It is only a town on a crowded beach that is full of tourist. Don't we see this in all beach resort towns? Will I return? Perhaps it is time to take out that golf bag from the store room.
And another travel trip awaiting....
